What a funny event was this Multicultural wedding in Florence I photographed in November (The last of the past season!). And what a fantastic bride was Georgette! I can bet that if you are american students, expats, or foreigners you already know Georgette aka a Girl in Florence! On her beautiful blog she wrote about her life here in the city of Florence and the travels she do with her husband. She discovered me and my photography casually at the beginning of past year and we started immediately to talk about her “out-of-the-box” wedding with people coming from all over the world (she’s from Texas and Nico is from France) to see their two wedding ceremonies and to enjoy their party. It’s not usual to see two different ceremonies in the same wedding so I’d like to spend some words about; the first one was a civil ceremony in Palazzo Vecchio (the Florence Town all) where they officially got married; the second one was a symbolic ceremony in both English and French at Villa Montalto – where they was going to have also dinner and dance floor – to have something more personal. As part of this symbolic celebration, they both wrote letters to one another, put it in the box with wine and nailed it shut; they will drink a year after they’ve been married, along with reading the letters…so romantic, isn’t it?
Georgette started early this year talking on her blog about the best steps to follow if you want to get married in Florence; and now she can finish her “wedding blog-post series” with these photos capturing their Big Day in one of the most famous city in Italy! Ok, enough chatter, hope you all enjoy some of my favorites from this last of the past season!
